Vastu Consultant for Delhi NCR Homes: Site Visit or Online

Dr. Kimaya Parikh-Ambekar consults for families across Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, either on a site visit or online. Builder floors, DDA flats, kothis and high-rise societies each raise their own Vastu questions, and so does a climate that swings from scorching summers to smoggy winters.

01

Can a Delhi NCR home get a proper Vastu consultation online?

Yes. Most homes in Delhi NCR have fixed layouts that can be drawn on a plan, and a plan, honest photographs and a careful compass reading give Dr. Kimaya what she needs to map each zone and suggest remedies. VastuKimaya's only office is in Andheri East, Mumbai, but online is not the only option: Dr. Kimaya also travels to Delhi NCR for site visits, arranged on the free first call.

What changes from city to city is the building, not the method. A Delhi NCR home might be one floor of a four-storey builder building, a DDA flat in an older colony, a family kothi with a lawn and a basement, or a flat high up in a Gurugram or Noida society, and each brings different questions.

02

How is Vastu read for a builder floor?

A builder floor is read as a home in its own right: the entrance to your floor and the rooms on it matter more than the direction the plot faces. Two families on different floors of the same building can have quite different Vastu, because the door, kitchen and bedrooms do not always stack the same way.

The shared staircase and lift usually decide where your front door falls. If the stairs rise along one side of the plot, your door may open off a landing facing a different direction from the gate below. Dr. Kimaya measures the pada (the exact sub-zone) of the door you actually use, and strengthens a less ideal one with lighting, colour and threshold remedies rather than any change to the structure.

    Front and rear units

Where a floor is split front and back, the rear unit often gets less light and a longer passage. Keeping that passage bright and clear protects the centre of the home.

  • 02

    Stilt parking below

Parking under the building is shared and fixed, and your home is read from your own floor. The guide to car parking Vastu covers what you can still control.

  • 03

    Internal stairs in duplex units

Stairs belong in the South, South-West or West, not the North-East. Staircase Vastu explains how an existing staircase is balanced.

03

Which plot facing is good for a house in Delhi NCR?

No plot facing is bad in itself. North, East and North-East entrances are generally favourable, and South- and West-facing plots work well with the right gate position, internal layout and remedies. What matters more is exactly where the gate and main door fall along that side, measured pada by pada.

Most colonies in Delhi NCR are laid out in rows of plots along a road, with corner plots on two roads and some plots facing a park. When a family rebuilds a kothi or buys a plot to develop builder floors, it is worth checking shape, slope and open space before the architect freezes the drawings. The plot selection guide covers shapes, slopes and roads, and the site, flat and plot selection service compares shortlisted options. For a house that already stands, gaps are balanced with remedies, never demolition.

04

Is a basement acceptable in Vastu, and how should it be used?

Yes, a basement is acceptable, and traditional guidance prefers it under the North or East part of the house. Many Delhi NCR kothis and builder buildings have one, so the real question is how it is used.

A basement suits storage, parking, a home gym, a media room or a well-lit home office. It suits a master bedroom less, because the head of the family is better placed in the South-West bedroom of a floor above. Whatever its use, keep it dry, ventilated and well lit, since damp after the monsoon makes any room feel heavy. What may be built or used below ground is a matter for your architect and the local authority, not for Vastu.

Terraces matter too. A barsati or rooftop room sits more comfortably in the South-West part of the roof, with the North-East left open and light. Overhead water tanks and solar frames also prefer the South and West of the terrace.

05

How do Delhi's hot summers, cold winters and smog affect Vastu?

The climate changes how you use windows and curtains, not the direction principles. Vastu favours larger openings on the North and East and smaller ones on the South and West, and Delhi's weather gives that advice practical weight in both seasons.

In summer the harsh afternoon sun and hot, dry winds hit the West and South-West hardest. Heavy curtains or blinds on those sides, light colours on exposed walls and heavier furniture along the South-West keep the home cooler and more settled. In winter the low sun arrives from the South, so open those curtains on clear days and let the warmth in; a modest South window used this way is no conflict.

Smog season, from late autumn into winter, makes ventilation harder. Air the home when outdoor air is cleaner, keep the North-West, the zone of वायु (Vayu, the air element), uncluttered, and follow medical advice on air purifiers, especially for children, elders and anyone with breathing problems. Vastu complements that care and never replaces it. The guide to fresh air and light has more on ventilation.

06

What about DDA flats and Gurugram or Noida high-rises?

Both are read from the flat itself, with remedies chosen for layouts that cannot change. DDA flats in older colonies tend to be compact, with the kitchen and toilets fixed. Common questions are a toilet in the North-East, a kitchen outside the South-East, and where a mandir can go in a small home, and each has a portable answer.

Gurugram and Noida societies bring the opposite situation: new towers, the same plan repeated and rotated, and flats often bought before possession. Ask the developer for the site plan with a north arrow, and compare shortlisted units one by one, since two flats on the same floor can face opposite ways. On high floors, wide glass and strong winds call for grounding in the South-West, as the guide to high-rise apartments explains.

07

How does an online consultation work from Delhi NCR?

You share your plan, photographs and compass readings, Dr. Kimaya studies them, and you go through the findings together on a video call. Delhi NCR shares Indian Standard Time with Mumbai, so sessions fit easily into the Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 7 pm IST window, in Hindi, English, Marathi or Gujarati.

Mark North on the floor plan, photograph every room and take three compass readings just inside the main door, facing out. The written report follows the call, with follow-up as you apply the remedies. How a remote consultation works gives the detail, and the Vastu consultation across India and abroad page explains both options for every city.

If you would rather Dr. Kimaya saw the home in person, she travels to Delhi NCR for site visits, and the dates are arranged on the free first call. The analysis and the written report are the same as online.

प्रश्न Questions

Common questions about Delhi NCR

Is a south-facing builder floor bad as per Vastu?

No. Every direction has its strengths, and a south-facing floor works well with the right layout. Dr. Kimaya checks where your door falls by pada, keeps the South-West of the home heavy and settled, and keeps the North-East light. The remedies are non-structural, so nothing needs to be broken.

Which floor of a builder floor building is better for Vastu?

No floor is better in itself. The ground floor often comes with a garden or basement and the upper floor with a terrace, but each is judged on its own entrance, kitchen, bedrooms and toilets, so compare the plans floor by floor.

Can a basement be used as a bedroom?

It can, though it suits a study, gym, media room or storage better. If it must be a bedroom, keep it dry, ventilated and well lit, and place the bed so the head points South or East. Where there is a choice, the head of the family is better placed in a South-West bedroom above ground.

Can you review a Gurugram or Noida flat before I book it?

Yes. Share the brochure, the unit plans and the site plan with a north arrow, and Dr. Kimaya compares the shortlisted units on entrance, kitchen, master bedroom, toilets and shape. Brochure drawings are not always drawn to true north, so recheck the directions with a compass once you take possession.

Does Dr. Kimaya visit homes in Delhi NCR?

Yes. She travels to Delhi NCR and other cities for site visits, and the dates are arranged on the free first call. If you prefer, the consultation can be held online by video call instead, with the same analysis and written report. VastuKimaya's only office is in Andheri East, Mumbai.

Can the consultation be held in Hindi?

Yes. Sessions are held in Hindi, English, Marathi or Gujarati, Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 7 pm IST. Mention your preferred language when you book the free first call on +91 70391 07512 or at [email protected].
