About Dr. Kimaya Parikh-Ambekar

Dr. Kimaya holds a Doctorate in Computer Science. That training shows in how she approaches Vastu: she prefers careful analysis to accepting a rule simply because it is written down.

In practice, this means measuring rather than assuming. Directions are taken on site with a compass, because a building's street-facing side or a brochure drawing can be misleading. She looks at how each room is actually used, not only how it was planned. And she draws on suitable modern tools where they help, while keeping the traditional principles at the centre.

Many people arrive with a list of remedies they have read about online. Dr. Kimaya starts somewhere else. She first helps you understand why a problem may be arising in your space, for example a heavy, cluttered North-East corner or a main door that is poorly lit, and only then suggests what to do.

Knowing the cause makes remedies easier to follow and to keep up. It also avoids spending money on items that do not suit your home.

Her remedies never call for demolition or breaking walls. She relies on placement, colour, lighting, crystals, pyramids, metal strips, mirrors, plants and decluttering, so the advice works in owned and rented homes alike.
