Vastu for Factories, Warehouses & Workshops
A factory is a set of moving parts: raw material coming in, machines running, goods going out. Factory Vastu places each activity in the zone that suits it.
- 1Best for
- Factory owners, warehouse operators, workshop owners and anyone buying or building an industrial unit.
- 2What we look at
- Plot shape and slope, gates, machines, fire points, stores, water, admin block and loading bays.
- 3What you get
- A zone-by-zone report for the whole plant, with fixes you can phase around production.
- 4How it happens
- Drawings studied first, then a plant walk-through with compass readings, discussion and written report.
01
Does the shape and slope of a factory plot matter?
Yes. In factory Vastu the land comes first, because everything else sits on it. A square or rectangular plot is easiest to balance; cuts and odd extensions, especially at the North-East or South-West corners, are the first defects we look for.
For slope, the traditional rule is simple: the land should be higher and heavier in the South and West, and lower and more open in the North and East. Storm-water drains should therefore run towards the North or East, and more open space should be left along the North and East boundaries than along the South and West.
02
Where should the factory gate be?
- The main gate suits the North, East or North-East side of the plot. Other sides can work once the exact position along the wall is checked with a compass.
- Keep the gate clear of electric poles, large trees, open drains and roads that run straight into it.
- Where the plot allows, a separate truck gate keeps heavy traffic away from the staff and visitor entrance.
- The security cabin sits close to the gate, preferably in the South-East or North-West part of the entry area.
03
Where do heavy machines, boilers and furnaces go?
Vastu treats weight and fire as two different things, so we plan them separately.

01
Heavy machinery
Presses, CNC machines, heavy production lines and cranes suit the South, West and South-West. Weight in these zones gives the plant stability; keep the North-East light.
02
Fire zone
Boilers, furnaces, kilns, ovens, transformers, generators and electrical panels belong in the South-East, called the Agni (अग्नि) or fire zone. The North-West is the second choice.
03
What to avoid
No boiler or furnace in the North-East, and no heavy machine in the exact centre of a shed. Keep the centre open for movement.
04
Safety comes first
Vastu never overrides fire, electrical or factory-licence rules. Where a code fixes a location, that zone is balanced with remedies instead.
04
Raw material, finished goods and loading bays
Think of it as a flow. What stays for a long time belongs in heavy zones; what must leave quickly belongs in the zone of movement. In a warehouse, the same split applies to slow-moving and fast-moving stock.
01
Raw material
Store it in the South-West or South, where heavy, long-held stock stays steady.
02
Finished goods
Keep packed goods ready for dispatch in the North-West, the zone of air and movement, which is linked with goods moving out.
03
Loading bays
Place dispatch docks in the North-West or North so trucks load close to the finished-goods store. Receiving can sit near the raw-material side.
04
Scrap and rejects
Clear scrap and rejected stock regularly, and never pile it in the North-East.
05
Where should water tanks and borewells be?
- A borewell, open well or underground water tank suits the North-East, North or East.
- Overhead tanks suit the South-West or West, on a strong, raised base.
- Keep septic tanks and effluent treatment plants away from the North-East; the North-West is usually preferred.
- Fix leaks and standing water quickly — damp corners are among the first things noted on a visit.
06
Where should the office and staff areas be?
01
Admin block
The North or East side of the plot suits the office block, with open space in front of it. Seating inside follows the same rules as any office — see office Vastu.
02
Workers' amenities
Canteens and rest rooms suit the North-West or South-East. Toilets suit the North-West or West, never the North-East.
03
Staff quarters
If workers live on site, the North-West or South-East of the plot suits their quarters, away from the main gate.
07
What does a factory Vastu visit involve?
Dr. Kimaya starts with the site plan and shed drawings, then walks the whole plant — gate, sheds, stores, utilities, offices and boundary — taking compass readings in each block. The rest follows how a consultation works, ending in a written report.
For a factory, the report ranks fixes by cost and by how much they disturb production, so you can phase them around shutdowns. VastuKimaya keeps remedies non-structural wherever possible: placement changes, colour, metal strips, pyramids and crystals. Energy scanning, pyramid therapy and Reiki for the space are also available.
08
Existing plant or new construction?
01
New construction
Bring Vastu in at the land-purchase and drawing stage — see plot selection. Gates, sheds, boiler house and tanks can then be placed with your architect before a single column is cast.
02
Running plant
Most corrections come from re-allocation: moving a store, a panel, a dispatch point or a desk. Fixed items are balanced with remedies rather than shifted.
03
Expansion
A new shed, floor or line changes the zones of the whole plot, so have it checked while it is still on paper.
04
Taking over a unit
Buying or leasing an existing factory? A check before you sign flags costly defects, such as a furnace in the North-East or a cut corner.
प्रश्न Questions
Common questions about Factory Vastu
What is industrial Vastu?
Industrial Vastu applies the principles of Vastu Shastra, the traditional Indian science of space and direction, to factories, warehouses and workshops. It looks at where the land, gates, machines, fire points, stores, water and offices sit, and aims to arrange them so the plant runs in harmony with its surroundings and supports productivity.
Is industrial Vastu suitable for warehouses and all types of industry?
Yes. The same principles apply to manufacturing units, engineering workshops, food processing plants, godowns, logistics hubs and warehouses. The details change with the process — a warehouse is mostly about stock flow and loading, while a plant with boilers needs careful fire-zone planning — so each recommendation is tailored to your industry.
When should Vastu be done for a factory?
Ideally before you start: when choosing the land and while the drawings are being made, so the site can be analysed together with your industry's specific needs. If your factory is already running, have the Vastu analysis done as soon as feasible. Most useful corrections are still possible in an established unit.
Do I need to make major structural changes to my factory?
Usually not. Recommendations for a running unit focus on layout, stores, desk positions, colour and organisation, and aim to work with the existing structure. Where something fixed sits in an unsuitable zone, it is balanced with remedies. Structural changes are only suggested for new construction or when you are already planning to rebuild.
Can industrial Vastu help with specific problems in my plant?
Yes, recommendations can be focused on the concern you raise, whether it is frequent breakdowns, staff turnover, slow dispatches or weak profitability. Vastu looks at whether the zones linked with that concern are disturbed and suggests corrections. It supports good management and maintenance; it does not replace them.
How long does it take to see results from factory Vastu?
It varies with the size of the unit, how many defects are found and how completely the recommendations are carried out. Some changes, such as clearing the North-East or re-routing dispatch, are felt in daily working quite soon. Larger corrections phased around production naturally take longer. Vastu supports a business over time rather than working overnight.
How often should a factory have a Vastu review?
A review makes sense whenever the plant changes: a new shed, a new production line, a shifted boiler or a new warehouse. Without major changes, a periodic check helps confirm that stores, scrap and machinery have not drifted into unsuitable zones as operations grow.
What does an industrial Vastu service from VastuKimaya include?
It covers site selection, a plant and layout assessment, Vastu for interiors and a written report with remedies, and can include energy scanning, pyramid therapy and Reiki for the space. For new projects, Dr. Kimaya can share recommendations with your architects and builders so they are built into the design.
Are Vastu recommendations for a factory permanent?
Placement decisions built into a new plant last as long as the layout stays the same. In a running unit, recommendations can be updated as your business, processes and goals change — for example when you add capacity or change what you store. Remedies such as crystals and pyramids also need simple upkeep to stay effective.
