How does your home score?
Thirteen questions, about two minutes. You get a score and, more usefully, a note on each answer that came back weak. Nothing is sent anywhere — this runs in your browser.
1.Which direction does your main door face, standing inside and looking out?
Use a compass app at the centre of the doorway, away from the lift and metal.
2.Is there a toilet or bathroom in the north-east of the home?
The north-east is the corner nearest to north and east together.
3.Is the flat a regular square or rectangle?
Look at the floor plan rather than the rooms.
4.Where is the kitchen?
5.Where is the main bedroom?
6.Which way does your head point when you sleep?
7.Is the centre of the home open and uncluttered?
The Brahmasthan — the middle of the floor plan, not the middle of a room.
8.What is in the north-east corner right now?
9.Is the south-west the heaviest part of the home?
Wardrobes, the locker, the main bed.
10.Is there a beam, loft or the neighbour's bathroom directly above the bed?
11.Which side of the home gets the morning light?
12.What does the main entrance look like?
13.Is there anything broken, chipped or stopped still in the home?
Cracked mirrors, chipped crockery, clocks that stopped, dead plants.
Common questions
- Is this Vastu score free?
- Yes, entirely. There is no sign-up, no email required and nothing is sent anywhere — the questions and the scoring run in your browser.
- How accurate is an online Vastu score?
- It is an indication from thirteen questions, not an assessment. A real consultation measures every zone with a compass against the floor plan, which no questionnaire can do. Treat the score as a way of finding out what to look at first.
- What do I need before I start?
- A compass reading at your main door helps, because several questions depend on direction. Any free compass app will do. You can answer 'not sure' to anything you do not know.
- What if my score is low?
- A low score usually reflects a few structural things rather than many. Most of what is suggested costs nothing — swapping which room is used for what, turning a bed, clearing a corner.
- Does a low score mean my home is unlucky?
- No. Vastu describes how a space is arranged and used, not fortune. Nothing here predicts events, and anyone who tells you a home is cursed and offers to fix it for a fee should be avoided.
