01

What is a tarot reading, in plain words?

Tarot uses a deck of 78 picture cards. Each card carries a familiar human theme — a beginning, a loss, patience, conflict, a choice between two roads. In a reading, some of those cards are drawn and laid out, and you are talked through what each one suggests about the situation you brought.

Treat the cards as prompts for thinking, not as answers. They give you a structure for looking at a problem from angles you may have been avoiding: what is really holding you back, and when it makes sense to act.

Tarot is not fortune-telling. It does not predict fixed outcomes, name dates, or reveal what someone else is secretly thinking. It never replaces medical, legal or financial advice — if your question needs a doctor, a lawyer or a qualified adviser, that is who you should see.

02

What happens in a reading?

A reading is a quiet conversation with cards on the table between you. Nothing is done to you, and nothing dramatic happens.

  • 01

    You bring a question

You say what is on your mind. If it is vague, Dr. Kimaya helps you sharpen it before any card is drawn.

  • 02

    Cards are drawn

They are shuffled and laid out in a spread — a set pattern in which each position stands for something.

  • 03

    Each position is explained

You hear what the position means, what the card suggests there, and how the two read together for you.

  • 04

    You respond

A reading is two-way. You say what fits and what does not, and it is discussed rather than announced at you.

  • 05

    You leave with next steps

Two or three practical things to do — a conversation to have, facts to gather, a decision to make or postpone.

03

Which questions suit a tarot reading?

The question shapes the reading. Open questions about your own choices work well, because you are the person who can act on the answer. Instead of 'Should I take the Pune job?', ask 'What should I weigh in deciding between the Pune job and staying in Mumbai?'

Career moves, an uncertain relationship, shifting homes, a family disagreement or a stuck business decision all read well. Some questions do not, and are not read on here:

Which questions suit a tarot reading?
  • Health — whether you have an illness, or whether a treatment will work. See a doctor.
  • Legal outcomes — how a case, a dispute or a visa application will be decided.
  • Someone else's private life — what another adult is thinking, doing or hiding.
  • Dates of death, or how long anyone will live.
  • Exam results, lottery numbers, or anything already decided elsewhere.

04

What are tarot spreads?

A spread is simply the pattern the cards are laid in. Each place in the pattern has a meaning, so the same card says something different depending on where it lands.

A single card gives one focus to hold in mind for the day or week. Three cards are commonly read as past, present and possible direction — what brought the situation here, where it stands now, and where it could go if nothing changes.

A fuller spread uses more cards for a decision with several parts: one group for each option you are weighing, plus positions for what supports you and what gets in the way. You are told what every position means before it is read, so nothing feels like a trick.

05

How does a reading fit with Vastu?

Vastu works on a space — its directions, light, layout and what is placed where. A reading works on the question behind the space: what the family actually wants from a move or a renovation, and whether everyone is pulling in the same direction.

That order is often the useful one. A couple deciding whether to renovate or shift out can use a reading to get the real question on the table, then a Vastu consultation to work on whichever home they choose — see how a consultation works.

It sits alongside the other services in the same way. Numerology reads the numbers linked to you and your home when you are comparing flats or dates, and Reiki is a gentle relaxation practice for people and spaces. A reading can be taken on its own.

06

Can a tarot reading be done online?

Yes. Readings happen in person at the Andheri East office in Mumbai — A-1304, Naman Premier, Marol Military Road — where you watch the cards laid on the table.

They are also done over a video call, for clients elsewhere in India and abroad. The cards are drawn and shown on screen, and the session runs the same way. A reading needs no floor plan and no site visit, so online works as well as sitting across a table.

07

What do you take away?

A reading should leave you with something usable the next morning, not a blur you half-remember.

  • A written summary of your question, the cards drawn and what each position suggested.
  • Two or three practical next steps, in the order that makes sense to do them.
  • A plain note of what the reading did not answer, so you know where to look instead.
  • Room to ask follow-up questions once you have had time to think it over.
  • Confidentiality — what you discuss stays between you and Dr. Kimaya, and is shared with nobody.

08

The honest limits of a reading

No reading here comes with a promised outcome. You will not be told that a card means money is coming, that a marriage will happen, or that a deal will close. Nobody can know that, and saying so would be dishonest.

You will also never be frightened. There are no warnings of curses, no black magic, no remedy sold to remove something you were just told to fear, and no pressure to book again. Cards that sound alarming — Death, the Tower — are about endings and change, and are explained that way.

A reading is not therapy and not medical care. If you are feeling very low, anxious or overwhelmed, please speak to a doctor or a qualified counsellor. In India you can call Tele-MANAS, the free government mental-health helpline, on 14416 at any time; in an emergency, call 112.

प्रश्न Questions

Common questions about Tarot Reading

Is tarot reading the same as fortune-telling?

No. Fortune-telling claims to tell you what will happen. A tarot reading uses the cards as prompts to think a situation through — what is driving it, what your options are, and what to do next. The outcome stays in your hands. Dr. Kimaya does not name dates, predict results, or promise that a card will bring money or marriage.

What question should I ask in a tarot reading?

Ask an open question about a choice you can act on: what to weigh between two jobs, how to handle a strained relationship, or whether to move home. Avoid yes-or-no questions and anything about another person's private life. If your question is still fuzzy, it is sharpened together at the start of the session.

Can tarot tell me about my health or a court case?

No, and these are not read on. Health questions need a doctor and legal questions need a lawyer; a card reading has nothing useful to add and could do harm by delaying proper advice. A reading can help you think about how you are coping with a situation, but never about the diagnosis or the verdict itself.

Do I need to believe in tarot for a reading to be useful?

No. Many people come simply because talking a decision through against a structure helps them hear their own thinking. You are welcome to disagree with any card as it is read — a reading is a conversation, not a verdict, and saying 'that does not fit' is useful information for the rest of the session.

Is a tarot reading confidential?

Yes. What you bring to a reading stays between you and Dr. Kimaya. Nothing is discussed with family members, employers or other clients, and readings are not repeated as examples or testimonials. If a family books together, what each person says privately during the session stays private.

Can I book a tarot reading online from outside Mumbai?

Yes. Readings are done by video call for clients across India and abroad, as well as in person at the Andheri East office in Mumbai. No floor plan or site visit is needed. The cards are drawn and shown on screen, and the session runs exactly as it would across a table.

Can a tarot reading be combined with a Vastu consultation?

They are separate services and either can be taken on its own. Some families find a reading useful first, because it helps them agree on what they want from a move or a renovation. The Vastu study then works on the space itself. The first consultation call is free, so you can ask what suits your situation.

Will a tarot reading tell me about a curse or negative energy?

No. You will never be told you are cursed, under black magic, or that something frightening will happen unless you pay for a remedy. That approach is not used here. Cards that sound alarming, such as Death or the Tower, are read as endings and change, and are explained calmly in the context of your question.
