01
Why do capable people freeze in interviews and presentations?
Capable people freeze in interviews and presentations because the body reads being watched and judged as a kind of threat: the heart races, the breath gets shallow and the mind goes blank at exactly the wrong moment. It happens to experienced professionals as often as to freshers.
Nerves are not proof that you are unprepared or not good enough. They are a sign that something matters to you. The goal is not to feel no nerves at all, but to feel steady enough to think clearly and speak in your own voice.
02
What preparation builds real confidence?
Real confidence comes mostly from preparation you can rely on when nerves rise. These habits help more than any remedy:
01
Rehearse aloud
Say your answers or your talk out loud, not just in your head. Speaking it is what builds fluency.
02
Know your first minute
Prepare your opening line and first few sentences word for word; once you start well, the rest follows more easily.
03
Prepare a few stories
Keep short examples of a challenge, a success and a lesson, each with a clear ending.
04
Record yourself
A phone recording shows pace, filler words and posture that you cannot notice in the moment.
05
Practise with a person
A friend or mentor asking unexpected questions prepares you for the real thing.
06
Test the setup
For online calls, check the link, camera, microphone and light the day before and again fifteen minutes before.
03
How can Reiki help with confidence?
Reiki can help with confidence by supporting a calm, grounded state, so nervous energy does not take over. It is a gentle hands-on or distance relaxation practice; it does not give you skills or knowledge, and it does not treat anxiety disorders.
In traditional Reiki thinking, confidence and personal power are associated with the मणिपूर (Manipura, the solar plexus centre), just above the navel, and calm expression with the throat centre. A practitioner may give attention to these areas during a session; chakras and Reiki explains the seven centres simply. Some people book a session a day or two before an important interview or presentation, or try distance Reiki online from home.

What is a simple five-minute routine before you walk in?
A five-minute routine of slow breathing, grounding and one clear intention can settle you before you walk in or join the call. Try it in a quiet corner or even a washroom:
01
Feet on the floor
Sit or stand with both feet flat and feel the ground under you for a few breaths.
02
Slow the breath
Breathe in gently through the nose and let the out-breath be a little longer than the in-breath, five or six times.
03
Hands on the solar plexus
Rest one hand just above the navel and the other on the chest, as in self-Reiki, for a minute or two.
04
Set one intention
Choose a simple संकल्प (sankalpa, intention), such as ‘I will speak clearly and listen well’.
05
Soften the shoulders
Drop the shoulders, unclench the jaw and smile slightly before you begin.

Which crystals are used for confidence?
The crystals most often used for confidence are Tiger's Eye for courage and grounding, Citrine for warmth and motivation, Clear Quartz for clarity and Black Tourmaline for steadiness. These are traditional associations, not medical effects, and a crystal works as a reminder of your intention rather than a source of skill.
A small, smooth Tiger's Eye in your pocket or bag can be something to hold before you speak; read more in Tiger's Eye meaning and placement. Keep Citrine on the desk rather than in the bedroom, as its energy is considered stimulating. Never make gem water from Tiger's Eye. For crystals chosen and activated for your situation, see crystal therapy.
06
Where should you sit while you prepare?
Prepare facing East or North if you can, at a clear desk with a solid wall behind you and good light. In Vastu, the East, ruled by Surya, is linked with clarity and visibility, which suits rehearsing a talk or interview answers.
For online presentations, the same corner works as your stage: light falling on your face, a calm background and the camera at eye level. Our work-from-home desk direction guide helps you choose a spot in a compact flat.
07
Which service fits this?
For everyday nerves, preparation comes first, with Reiki and crystals as gentle support. If you experience panic attacks, fear that stops you from attending interviews, or anxiety that affects daily life, please see a doctor or mental-health professional first; anxiety and your surroundings explains how home changes can sit alongside that care. In India you can call the free Tele-MANAS helpline on 14416 (or 1-800-891-4416), available 24×7.

Questions
Frequently asked
Can Reiki help with interview nerves?
Reiki can help you feel calmer and more grounded before an interview, which many people find useful. It is a complementary relaxation practice; it does not replace preparation, and severe anxiety should be discussed with a doctor or counsellor.
Which crystal is good for confidence?
Tiger's Eye is the crystal most often linked with confidence and grounding, with Citrine for warmth and Clear Quartz for clarity. These are traditional associations; a crystal works as a reminder of intention, not a source of skill.
Which chakra is linked with confidence?
In traditional Reiki and yoga thinking, confidence and personal power are associated with the solar plexus centre, Manipura, just above the navel. Calm, clear speaking is associated with the throat centre.
How can I calm down five minutes before a presentation?
Plant your feet, slow your breathing with a longer out-breath, rest a hand just above the navel, set one simple intention and relax your shoulders and jaw. Then begin with the opening lines you have already rehearsed.
Can I carry a crystal into an interview?
Yes, a small, smooth crystal such as Tiger's Eye can be kept in a pocket or bag and held quietly before you go in. Keep it out of sight during the interview so your attention stays on the conversation.
