Distance Reiki Healing Online: What Happens

If you are booking Reiki from another city or country, the practical questions come first: what is arranged on the call, what you do during the session, and what to expect afterwards.

Distance Reiki Healing Online: What Happens

01

What happens in a distance Reiki session booked online?

Three things happen, in order. You speak with the practitioner first, usually by video or phone, so she understands what is going on and what you are hoping for. Then, at the agreed hour, you rest quietly wherever you are while she works. Afterwards, you share what you noticed and what, if anything, you should do at home.

Nothing is demanded of you during the session itself. You do not need to concentrate, chant, visualise or stay awake. Lying down and letting your body be still is the whole of your part.

Reiki is a gentle relaxation practice. It sits alongside medical and psychological care, supporting rest rather than treating anything, and it is never a reason to delay or stop treatment your doctor has prescribed.

02

What is agreed before the session?

The preparatory conversation matters more than people expect, and at VastuKimaya the first consultation call is free precisely so it is not rushed.

You describe your situation in your own words — a stretch of poor sleep, a period of strain at work, recovery after an illness, a house that has felt heavy since a difficult year. The practitioner explains what Reiki does and does not do, and you agree the arrangements together.

  • 01

    The time

A specific slot in both your clocks, written down. If you are abroad, the time zone is named explicitly to avoid a missed hour.

  • 02

    Your intention

One line on what you would like support with — usually rest, calm or steadiness rather than a specific outcome.

  • 03

Whether you are on the call

Some people prefer to stay on a silent video call, some prefer to be entirely alone. Both are workable; say which suits you.

  • 04

    What you will be doing

Lying down is ideal. Sitting in a chair is fine. Driving, cooking or working is not.

  • 05

    How you will report back

A short call or a written note afterwards, agreed in advance so nobody is waiting on the other.

  • 06

    Anything medical in progress

Mention ongoing treatment, pregnancy or recent surgery. Nothing changes because of it, but the practitioner should know.

03

How do you prepare your space?

Choose the quietest room you have and make it feel unhurried. This is the part you control, and it makes a visible difference to how the session goes.

Switch the phone to silent — not vibrate — and tell anyone else in the house that you should not be disturbed for the next stretch. Draw the curtains if the light is harsh, keep the room comfortably warm, and have a blanket, because people often cool slightly while lying still.

Keep water within reach for afterwards, and try not to eat a heavy meal immediately before. A small ritual of your own, such as lighting a diya and sitting for two minutes, helps the शांति (shanti, peace) of the room settle before you begin.

04

What do people commonly notice?

Experiences vary widely, and there is no correct one. What is reported most often is warmth in the hands or shoulders, a heaviness in the limbs like the moment before sleep, a slow deepening of the breath, and occasionally a wave of emotion that passes.

Many people fall asleep. That is entirely fine and is not a failure of attention — a body that lets go enough to sleep is doing the thing the session is for.

Some people feel very little at the time and notice something later: an easier night, a lighter morning, a reaction they did not have. And some feel nothing at all. Nobody should be told what they ought to have experienced.

05

Why does location not matter?

Because distance work has always been part of how these practices are taught. Reiki is learned in stages, and the training at the second level is specifically concerned with working when the practitioner and the person are not in the same room.

This is not unusual in Indian practice generally. Vastu analysis is routinely done from a floor plan and photographs for clients in other cities and countries, and crystal guidance is often given remotely, with the person sourcing stones locally.

What matters far more than your latitude is whether you actually set the time aside. A session taken properly in Toronto is worth more than one squeezed in badly in Mumbai.

06

What Reiki cannot do

It cannot diagnose, and it cannot treat. Reiki is not a substitute for medicine, surgery, therapy or medication, and anyone who tells you otherwise is doing you harm. Continue everything your doctor has advised.

It cannot promise a result. Relaxation practices support wellbeing; they do not deliver outcomes on a schedule, and honest practitioners do not pretend they do.

It cannot carry the weight of a mental-health crisis. If you are in real distress — unable to sleep or function, or having thoughts of harming yourself — please contact a mental-health professional. In India, the free Tele-MANAS helpline is available 24×7 on 14416 (or 1-800-891-4416). Reiki may sit alongside that care; it must never take its place.

07

How often would you book one?

There is no fixed schedule, and there should not be. What suits a difficult fortnight is different from what suits a long recovery, and a good practitioner will suggest fewer sessions rather than more.

A common pattern is a short series close together while something is acute, then a longer gap and a review of whether it is still adding anything. If nothing seems to be changing, that is useful information and worth saying plainly.

Between sessions, the ordinary things carry most of the weight — sleep, daylight, movement, company, and a home that is not working against you. Reiki supports those; it does not replace them.

Booking a distance session

Dr. Kimaya Parikh-Ambekar offers Reiki healing and Reiki Vastu at VastuKimaya, from the office at A-1304, Naman Premier, Marol Military Road, Andheri East, Mumbai 400059, and as distance sessions for clients in other cities and abroad.

Call or message +91 70391 07512, or write to stayblessed@vastukimaya.com, with your city and time zone. The first consultation call is free, and the timing, the way the session runs and the arrangements are settled on that call. Sessions are held in English, Hindi, Marathi or Gujarati.

If what is troubling you seems tied to the house itself rather than to you, a remote Vastu consultation from a floor plan and photographs may be the more useful first step.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to be on the video call during distance Reiki?

Not necessarily. Some people stay on a silent call, others prefer to be alone in the room. Decide which you would rather do when the time is agreed beforehand.

What should I be doing during the session?

Resting quietly, ideally lying down with the phone on silent. You do not need to concentrate or stay awake. Falling asleep is common and perfectly fine.

Does it matter which country I am in?

No. Distance work is a standard part of Reiki practice and is used routinely for clients in other cities and abroad. Only the timing needs careful agreement.

Can Reiki replace my medical treatment?

No. Reiki is a relaxation practice that complements medical and psychological care. Continue everything your doctor has advised, and never stop medication because of a session.

What if I feel nothing at all?

That happens and is not a failure. Some people notice warmth or heaviness, some notice something only the next day, and some notice nothing. Say so honestly afterwards.

How long is a distance session?

The length is confirmed on the free first call along with the timing, so you can set aside a clear stretch with a quiet half hour afterwards rather than rushing off.
