Corner flats can be very good as per Vastu, but it depends on which corner of the building they occupy and how the rooms inside are arranged. There is no single rule that all corner homes are lucky or unlucky.

In Mumbai, corner flats are popular because they usually have windows on two sides, more cross-ventilation and better light. These are real advantages that support healthy प्राण (prana, life energy) in the home. Vastu simply asks you to look a little deeper at the direction of that corner and the entrance.

Each corner of a building carries the quality of its direction, and each has strengths. Identify the corner with a compass from the building's centre or the society plan, not from the lift lobby alone.

Corner plots with roads on two sides are assessed by which two directions the roads run along. The roads bring movement and access, so their direction shapes the plot's character.

Square or rectangular corner plots with regular boundaries are preferred, and a plot that is higher in the South and West and slopes gently towards the North or East is considered supportive.

The shape matters because Vastu prefers complete, regular corners. A corner that is cut, rounded or chamfered by the building's design can reduce the strength of that direction.

Many modern towers have angled or curved corners for views. A missing North-East corner is usually looked at carefully, while an extended North-East is often considered positive. A cut South-West may be balanced by adding weight and earth-toned décor on that side.

Before buying a corner flat, check the entrance, the corner direction and the internal layout together. A short checklist keeps the decision calm and practical.

A corner flat that is not ideal can usually be balanced with simple, non-structural remedies. You do not need to break walls or change the building.
