Vastu matters for a godown because the whole business depends on goods coming in, being stored safely and moving out on time. Vastu applies the qualities of each direction to that flow, so storage, loading, staff and records each sit in a supportive zone.

Many Mumbai businesses rely on godowns in Bhiwandi, Vasai, Taloja or older commercial pockets of the city, often in rented sheds with fixed shutters and limited changes allowed. The main shutter or gate is generally favourable in the North, East or North-East, with the exact position checked by compass. If the loading bay is in the South or West because of road access, keep the area very well lit, clean and clearly organised, and consider remedies such as metal strips or pyramids at the threshold after analysis.

The godown manager's cabin or office desk suits the South-West, with the manager facing North or East. This gives a steady view of operations and supports control over stock and staff.

The centre of a warehouse should stay open because it is the ब्रह्मस्थान (Brahmasthan, the centre), associated with the free flow of energy through the whole space. In practical terms, an open central aisle also makes movement of forklifts, trolleys and people safer and faster.

Avoid stacking cartons, parking vehicles or placing heavy machines in the centre. Mark aisles clearly on the floor and keep them clear at all times. The North-East, or ईशान्य (Ishanya, the North-East), should similarly remain clean and light; a small, tidy prayer spot or open space works well here.
