Pyramids in Vastu: How Activated Pyramids Are Used
Pyramid Vastu uses activated pyramids to balance Vastu defects without breaking walls. How they work, where they are placed, and what to keep in mind before using them.
By Dr. Kimaya Parikh-Ambekar, Vastu consultant, Andheri East, Mumbai

01
What is pyramid Vastu?
Pyramid Vastu is the use of pyramids as corrective remedies for Vastu defects, to strengthen weak zones and reduce the effect of imbalanced ones. In energy practices, the pyramid shape is believed to gather and concentrate energy, and Vastu uses this quality to bring a disturbed area back towards balance.
The shape itself carries meaning. A broad, stable base rises to a single point, echoing the grounding of the Earth element and the upward movement of energy. Pyramids have fascinated many cultures for this reason, and in Vastu they have become a practical tool.
Their main advantage is that they are non-structural. A pyramid plate, strip or set can be placed on the floor, on a wall, above a door or under furniture, so the remedy suits flats in housing societies, rented homes and working offices.
02
What does activated mean?
An activated pyramid is one that has been cleansed and energised with a specific intention before placement. At VastuKimaya, remedies are selected for the Vastu analysis of the space, and energised using practices such as Reiki and mantras before they are installed.
Activation connects the remedy to its purpose, whether that is balancing a cut corner, supporting a main door or reducing the impact of a toilet in the North-East. A pyramid bought and placed randomly lacks this focus, and may end up in a zone where it is not needed.
03
Where are pyramids used as Vastu remedies?
Pyramids are used wherever a Vastu defect cannot be corrected structurally. The common placements are listed below.
01
Cut or missing corners
Pyramids along the walls of a cut North-East, South-West or other corner help balance the missing zone.
02
Main door
Pyramid strips or plates at the threshold or above the entrance when the door falls in a less favourable pada.
03
Toilets in sensitive zones
Pyramids to reduce the impact of a toilet in the North-East or the centre of the home.
04
Kitchen in the wrong zone
Pyramids to support balance when the kitchen is not in the South-East or North-West.
05
Extensions and irregular shapes
Pyramids to settle the energy of odd-shaped rooms, projections and extended areas.
06
Beds, desks and cash areas
Pyramids under a bed, study desk, work chair or cash locker to support rest, focus or stability.
04
What types of pyramids are used?
Pyramids used in Vastu come in several forms and materials, each suited to a different kind of placement.
01
Pyramid plates
Flat plates with a grid of small pyramids, placed under furniture, under the floor covering or on a wall.
02
Pyramid strips
Long, narrow strips placed along door frames, thresholds or walls to correct a line or edge.
03
Single pyramids
Individual pyramids in copper, brass, crystal or other materials, placed in specific corners or on desks.
04
Pyramid sets or grids
Arrangements of multiple pyramids used for larger defects, such as a significant cut corner or an irregular plot.
05
Crystal pyramids
Pyramids made from crystals such as Clear Quartz, which combine the pyramid shape with the qualities of the crystal.
05
Can you place pyramids yourself?
You can place simple pyramids yourself for general support, but corrective remedies for defects are more effective after a proper Vastu analysis. The zone, size, type and number of pyramids all depend on the specific problem.
A common mistake is placing pyramids in many rooms at once, hoping that more will help more. This can create confusion in the space rather than balance. Another is placing a pyramid in the wrong zone because the directions were guessed rather than measured with a compass.
If you do use pyramids on your own, keep them clean, avoid placing them where people step on them repeatedly unless they are designed for the floor, and keep small pyramids away from young children.
06
How do pyramids work with other Vastu remedies?
Pyramids are often combined with other non-structural remedies so that each supports the others. A toilet in the North-East, for example, may be balanced with pyramids along with a bowl of sea salt, light colours and good ventilation. A weak South-West may receive pyramids alongside earthy colours and heavy furniture.
Crystals, metal strips, colour therapy, Reiki space healing and numerology can all form part of the same plan. The पंचतत्व (Pancha Tattva, the five elements) are considered together, so a remedy for one zone does not unsettle another.
This integrated approach is why a written report with a clear placement plan is so useful. It lets you see exactly what goes where, and why.
07
How should pyramids be maintained?
Pyramids should be kept clean, undisturbed and in the position where they were placed. Dust them gently and avoid moving them around the home once installed, as their placement is tied to a specific zone.
If you renovate, shift furniture or change the use of a room, check whether the pyramid placement still makes sense. Remedies may need to be adjusted when the layout changes, which is part of follow-up after a consultation.
08
When to consult a Vastu expert
Consult a Vastu expert when your home or office has a clear defect that cannot be corrected structurally, such as a cut corner, a toilet in the North-East, or an entrance in an unfavourable pada. A professional analysis determines which pyramids are needed, how many, and exactly where they should go.
Dr. Kimaya Parikh-Ambekar selects, activates and places pyramids according to the Vastu analysis of each property. Consultations are available on-site across Mumbai from the Andheri East office, or by distance using floor plans and photographs, with follow-up to review and adjust remedies where needed.

Yes, a pyramid plate under the bed is a common remedy to support rest and stability. The type and placement should be chosen for your bedroom's zone.
Which material is good for Vastu pyramids?
